The Douro Nest Villa - Valenca do Douro

The value for money at Domaine Casa Valenca was really good, with a well-appointed room and gorgeous views from the top of the hill.

The morning meal could have been improved with a wider variety of options.

We had an amazing time at this beautiful hilltop villa overlooking the breathtaking Douro Valley. The modern and spacious house was spotlessly clean and provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The views from the big windows in the living room and bedroom were stunning. We especially enjoyed watching the city lights at night and witnessing the start of a new day. The villa's garden and pool were a delight, offering a tranquil retreat. Our host Paula was incredibly helpful and welcoming. We also appreciated the opportunity to meet local people in the small village and the convenient daily bread delivery. The drive up to the villa was a bit challenging, but definitely manageable.

Although the villa was well-equipped, it would have been nice to have a sunscreen by the pool for extra shade. Additionally, the pool water was a bit cold during our visit in late April.
